Hello again folks,

I have a WP website running Invictus theme. My host tells me that I have reached my size limit and that I should consider removing unwanted/unneeded files or upgrade to the next level of their service. Before I shell out another £12 for the upgrade I wondered if there is anything I can get rid of that isn't needed. The site is basically a series of galleries plus a link to another site where I host client galleries and my web shop.

I know absolutely NOTHING about websites but if someone here could pass a knowledgeable eye over the folder structure and make some suggestions then it would be appreciated.

Here's a link to the folder structure: https://www.dropbox.com/s/9xit49kyaa2vgfr/Screenshot 2014-07-17 16.21.08.png

TIA
Steve

Is your host also storing email for you?
That's usually the biggest eater of your available on-line storage.

Then it's images. Have you uploaded any images at full resolution?

Finally, you haven't said what your size limit is.

Guys, cheers for the interest.

The host doesn't store emails. I use a POP3 account and they are deleted from the server as soon as they're downloaded to Outlook on my PC.

I guess images are the culprit and I think I may have found the problem. A few weeks ago I deleted all of the images on the site via the WP dashboard and then loaded a whole mess of new ones. This morning I decided to upload some more and that's when I got into trouble but looking through some of the folders the original images are still there - deleting them didn't actually remove them from the folders. I'm going to delete the old images from the folders manually and see what happens.

I don't upload hi-res images to the site and they're all sized 800px high by 1400px (max) wide so quite small images really. My present limit is 500MB and the next step up is 2GB - for an extra £12/yr I might get the upgrade anyway. The hosting company is Vidahost, BTW. I've been using them for about 4 years now and am very happy with them so far - very responsive to service issues from numpties like me :)
