Any UK Canon 5D MKII kits Available?

Give Calumet a ring, they found one for me in a hurry when I was thinking of giving up photography.

They also dealt with Canon who played a similar dance with me when I sent of my 100-400L for repair through them. That took 7 weeks so I know your pain.

Well I managed to get my 5d mk11 with 24-105 at local LCE, that was best deal i could find and i did look long and hard. £2500 2 yr warranty and a bg6 I think that deal is very hard to beat, that was the Derby branch. most places only give one yr but jacobs offered me 2 yrs but £2520, so i went LCE and told them jacobs deal was £2500 with 2yrs but would use them if they matched them and they did LOL.

Every cheap one I found was always a import, I rang simply electronics never found anyone cheaper asked them and they said "if there was any problem would have to send to them"not Canon buyer beware LOL
 
Wilkinsons show instock, not sure if their site is up to date, will check tomorrow.
Kay has her options, she now has to decide what to do.
I for one will be happy when this is all over with

and yeah they are a great company! never had any issues, and i've been using them for years!!
 
Anyone know why they've disappeared? Or when they're going to re-appear?
 
Spent the morning phoneing retailers, to be told not instock.
Kay is now waiting for a new replacement from WHE, should be here in a couple of weeks.
Today she bought from here tp a s/h 40D to keep her going.

I presume its a similar thing as to the "UK-Spec" 70-200 IS mk2, I've heard Canon UK are waiting for them themselves!!

Yeah, they're definitely entirely out of stock themselves. It just seems really, really strange - sure it's a fairly expensive item and they can't have thousands and thousands of spares sitting around...but to run out entirely seems really strange.

Didn't know they were out of stock on that lens too though - perhaps they should fire a buyer!

I was told by a dealer this morning.
Canon are saying "shortage is due to world cup", no idea how this would effect 5D MKII mind you :shrug:
 
oh so another thing for me to get annoyed about with the football!!!

Since they'd all be better with a 7D, I'm not totally sure that excuse works...
 
Anyone heard any more dates for when they'll be appearing in stock? I want a new toy!
 
After making a massive decision changing from nikon to canon, I decided to go for this camera. Purchased all the stuff, battery grip, flash, spare batteries etc from jessops which arrived next day, but told camera & 24-105 wasn't available till 28th June, called them yesterday but now they're saying another week but couldn't promise, hence spent last 2 days phoning round in vain with much the same story, I don't think anyone can give an exact answer & are afraid to as they don't want to put off prospective sales. Have even tried to contact canon without success. Think that canon should be upfront & give us purchasers a real answer instead of leading us on so we know the score. Will post further if I get any more news. Just hope my decision will prove to be worth waiting for.

Hi & thanks for the warm welcome, well after writing on this forum yesterday, I called Wilkinsons at 4.30 pm & were told they had 4 in stock. I paid my money feeling a little bit cautious, & then this morning at 9am there it was delivered to my door. Hats off to Wilks. & 1st impression were that I have made the best photo decision for quite a few years. Anyone after a 5D try W's may still have some left, Cheap, great service & friendly & definately will use the best lenses.
