Just a shot in the dark, are there any Topaz Photo AI users here?

I have a photo that I think could do with some Topaz AI Sharpening magic but at £199 it's a little steep to try. I know there is a trial version but it doesn't allow saving therefore hard to judge what final result would be.

Therefore my question is if there is someone that uses/has Topaz Photo AI and would they be able to run it on a raw file for me to see what the results are like?

Alternarively I'll just hope there's a very good Black Friday offer :)

Ha! here's a story. I tried the trial version of Photo AI on one particular (unsharp) image and I just couldn't get a decent result. I contacted Topaz and they asked me to send me the original file plus the best I could do using the software and they would have a look at it. Last night I went back to the original file, used Photo AI and discovered it did a pretty good job after all! Don't know what happened there.

I believe its actually $199 which eases the blow somewhat and yes, Black Friday will be with us soon, probably three weeks next Tuesday......

Hi mate

I have the latest version and I do like the program for certain features, I don't mind running your file through Photo AI so you can see the results

That’s excellent thank you! I’m out tonight but will drop you a message tomorrow or you can PM where to send it, it’s from 51mp camera so imagine file size is quite big

No problem just drop me a PM when you are ready (y)

I have Photo AI, Denoise AI, Gigapixel and Sharpen AI. Personally I still prefer Denoise AI for noise reduction (or indeed Lightroom's own noise reduction feature which often works better!).
Same here, and also much prefer sharpen ai, if I happen to mess up this badly.
I have maybe accepted photo ai results 3 times in nearly 2 years, so really regret giving them this money even as it was a discounted special. It's still a waste so far

They generally do quite substantial black Friday reductions, do well worth waiting if you are set on it.

As of now I'm fine with what Photoworks has in terms of sharpening, but I've heard a lot of great things about Topaz, so I'll probably have to give it a try

I have the four Topaz from two years ago, I bought them all on the Black Friday deal. As of yet I don't see any reason to upgrade. Some pictures it does a great job with others not so much, but by and large I would not be without it. I also like to take very old b/w photos, & it can do marvels with some of them.

If you are on a Mac beware. The legacy programmes (Sharpen, Denoise) are very unhappy with the latest OS versions. As far as I am concerned, they are unusable with Sonoma or Sequoia. But Photo AI has come so far in the last year that it is now fully functional.

I’m on latest Mac OS and my Sharpen AI still works ok, an older version I do only use it occasionally though, mainly use DXO and Affinity

Hi,I use Topaz Denoise and Sharpen (original software), also use DXO pure Raw for really high ISO images as feel it does a better job than Topaz software, Mac Mini M2 16GB, latest software version.
3 images obviously converted to Jpeg, 1st is OOC Nikon Z8 at 5600 ISO then Topaz Denoise and Sharpen, I only shoot wildlife.
Have to agree with OP that the price for the Photo AI is IMO far to high and as someone who only needs to reduce noise or sharpen images why would I buy a package that I would only use half of?

Topaz denoise AI is my first port of call for noise reduction but when it comes to sharpening, Adobe's smart smart sharpener seems to do a good a job as any unless it's a real problem , in which case I generally resort to the low pass sharpening method.
