I always have a Tesco's (or whatevers handiest) carrier + elastic bands in my camera bag. It makes a cheap showerproof cover for camera/lens, and allows you to continue shooting without getting your gear soaked
I was just thinking about getting creative with some rainy day/night shots. I figured I could cover my camera without to much effort but what I thought would be very handy is an umbrella holder for the tripod. Sure it could be tricky if it was windy or raining really hard but with a hand to steady it could work. Maybe?
Great advice guys! Really going to get creative with it! Luckily landscape wise I have a fantastic high up view of bristol from my window so I'm able to stay dry! Do you guys have any examples of the work you've produced in the rain?
