I was talking a friend through DOF and took this photo as an example while on a friends boat and she has fallen in love with the photo and wants it printing onto a canvas for her flat.

P/P isn't my strong point. Anyone have any suggestions/pointers on what I can do to make it the best it can be for her?

Full res copy readily available if anyone fancies a play. ;)

One thing you should keep in mind is the wrap you get with some canvases (it goes around the frame) so you may loose something off the edges. You need to check with whoever is doing the canvas for you, some people will copy the part of the picture next to the edge and flip that (works sometimes) others leave it blank.

Hi. I like the image a lot. I had a play in PS and think you could adjust the curve to make it 'pop' at bit. I also added a selective color layer and with the sky area selected, made it a bit more 'blue' to balance with the blue on the boat, as its quite pale and draws the eye upward.

Might look nice as an acrylic rather than a canvas?

I just figured it could respond well to some tweaking, and my tweaking goes as far as auto levels etc. I don't do much processing on my photos but for someone to be putting up on their wall I thought it worth making it look it's best.

Nice DOF, Why change it, if she likes it as it is, job done. as said if you are going for a wrap around canvas then there is a chance of lossing some of the image...

I wouldn't do an awful lot to it, I don't think it needs it.

I've had a play - made a small curves adjustment to tweak the contrast, made a small boost to vibrance and finally sharpened with unsharp mask.

Thanks for hints and suggestions, and for taking the time to have a play! I left it as it was in the end.

She was going to have it put on canvess by someone at her work who handles marketing/printing shizz so I will leave it down to him to worry about the edges.
