I have my combi on the back wall of a terrace house on the 1st floor i would like to move it directly below it on ground floor so not minimal pipe work. In fact it was originally there but was moved for some reason. The flue would need to go out the wall then up through a lean to. Anyone got a ball park figure on how much that would be? I've been pricing up building it into a custom built wardrobe but it's not ideal having it in a child's bedroom.
 
You can extend a flue easilly, we had a garage built on the back of our house and our vailant had the same issue, our plumber did it and liased with the folk building the garage so it went through the roof all good, was about £500 for his days work and the required flue parts.
 
forgot to add tour boiler is a balanced flue vailant.
is you bioler reasonably new?
if not also factor in replacing it at the same time.
 
Yeah the boiler was 2012 i from memory.
 
If it's a 2012 then the regs may have stopped it being wherever the one before that was. Was that in the upstairs as well or downstairs where you want it now?
 
you should be ok but the plumber may also suggest raising the flue up so it exits above a window due to the steam plume.
 
The flue has to be accessible enough for checking visibly, miine was boxed in so I had to provide an inspection hatch. Used to be OK when I had it installed , but regs changed a few years back, also had to add an extra bend on the overflow pipe.

The gas regs are really strict, and for a reason. Ask anyone who's lost someone from carbon monoxide poisoning and you soon realise why. Personally I'd get a professional in, to see if it's do-able before doing anything else.

Ps And you don't want a plumber, you need a heating engineer. ;)

Many plumbers are also heating engineers and registered Gas Safe.
The guy I use is, might be worth looking at http://www.checkatrade.com/ for someone in your area
at least you get reviews from people who have used them.
I was lucky and found the guy I use on a visit to a local plumbing supply place, the man that runs it
recommended him to me and I have to say I have been impressed with work he has done so far

What kind of roof is on the lean to?
Might be worth posting a picture showing where the flue is now, and where you want it to exit from the lean to.
Could you put the boiler into the lean to? Is there a wall you could flue though from the lean to rather than going through the roof?
What make is the boiler? Some manufacturers can have different clearance requirements.

Would be worth seeing a picture. Does the flue go straight out of the wall now? I can't remember exactly the regs off the top of my head but could find out. Only just sat my Gas Safe a few months ago but there's so much to know, I struggle to remember things without looking.
