Are there any other members who collect cameras?

We have a fairly extensive collection of cameras; mainly rangefinders from the 1950s and 60s but a lot from earlier years.

Not only have we collected the cameras but we do use them; each camera having been tested at least once and some used fairly regularly. In addition to using the vintage cameras we also develop all out own film which gives an added interest to the collection.

We have too many cameras to list but you can see some of our collection on our website at :

The above link is the first page of the section; each page shows the cameras in our collection and a few details of the camera. The following pages show photographs we have taken with the camera.

I have looked at a few polaroid cameras with interest but what has put me off was the price of the film. Also I think that polaroid film is becoming difficult to obtain.

Still good luck with your collecting; it is fun to work with an old camera or different technology.

I'm not a collector in the broadest sense of the word, but like a lot of peeps, I end up owning a few over a period of time.
I have a thing for rangefinders too, but not with a collectors psychology.
I have eight cameras at the moment, only 2 are rangefinders, Mamiya 6 and another Yashica Electro.
The mamiya is functional, the Yashica is beautiful, I have at least 20 on my list of "must own" at some point in my life, all the beautiful rather than fuctional variety.

I don't think I can improve on fuctional.

:)

I've got a few old Polaroids (plus the odd rangefinder or two), I know that most won't get used as film is no longer made for them, but they make good paperweights!
