RIP Phil, sad. I watched quite a lot of the program and Phil struck me a being a nice guy. A heavy smoker always seemed to have a smoke in his hand or lips. I don't suppose they helped matters.
 
R.I.P - he was certainly an entertaining character. :(
 
Very sad. A great piece of programming on a very tough occupation. His crew and many viewers will miss him badly.
 
How sad... Last time I watched it he was an ill man, coughing up blood, high blood pressure. He was one hell of a character though and a tough bloke.
 
Ahh crap, thats **** news. I'm quite a fan of the series, Cornelia Marie and Northwestern always featured heavily and their captains were the best characters IMO.
 
Ah thats such a shame - he was a real character.

It is obviously a pretty stressful, and in many way unhealthy, lifestyle but he really seemed to love what he did. Hopefully his boys can continue to fly the Harris flag on the Cornelia Marie.

RIP. Seemed like a nice bloke, honest hard working and doing a job most of us would never consider even for the money.
