Having used Aperture 3 and now Lightroom, its night and day. Aperture can burn in hell. Certainly not worth 50 quid imo, I payed 130ish for it when it first came out and nearly broke down into tears after using it for a week.
Think it worth the punt for £55, I'm sensing it not for some on here. But £200 to £50 no competition really
version history for Aperture (i.e. how many times they had to fix it):

note how many begin with 'update improves overall stability and performance issues'
and note how long between updates.

Very impressed by the software, for £50 not a bad upgrade from iPhoto, not quite got it working to same level as PS but it is a lot easier to achieve good results.
And a big thanks to all replies for the input
