any one tried this place

Personally I'd walk away from this one. I'd rather pay a bit more and know that I'll get the goods. Nothing definite but it does feel a bit "iffy".

Hi Guys

Payment options - Bank Transfer, Western Union, Moneygram, Paypal (not linked to item purchased = iffy).

So no secure payment method available.

its a risk buying from any unknown internet sites but sometimes it pays off. maybe buy on your creditcard for that extra security?

**edited** Cross posted with martyn...very suspect!

They do display credit card logos so it implies you can pay that way. In which case there's some bargains if it is kosher.

Read their FAQ the bit regarding payment, it is not kosher, most places that take paypal display credit card logo's as they default to paypal.

The problem is if you pay by paypal you then have to tell them what you have bought, that should not happen, and you would be unable to raise a claim through paypal.

paypal arent as safe as they claim to be. I was done over and paypal did nothing. The transaction all went with their terms and conditions yet they didnt support my when my goods didnt arrive.

If it is legit, everything is sent from China so it could well be true - prices wise anyway. You'd end up with the same warranty issues as usual though.

Down the left hand side of the main screen it has a list of tracking numbers... these strike me as just a smokescreen to entice you into thinking stuff actually does get shipped. Why would you place your customer order tracking like that? The source cities of those shipments varies too... just random shipment numbers?

Be careful. I tried to buy a pair of MB-D10 grips from Simply recently to save £100. After 3 weeks and a lot of nasty e-mails they refunded the money, I re-ordered from Amazon and they arrived next day.

You also have to consider that you may have to pay import tax and administration costs on top of the main price so the price at point of sale may not be than good. And then there is the warranty, I’m sure I read a warning on the UK Nikon site that said they did not provide an “international warranty” as all these sites claim. If it goes wrong your stuffed.

Pay the little be extra and sleep at night is the lesson I learnt.

cheers guys

i'll let my sister know what people have said .. i think the prices are a little to good to be true ... credit card would be her best option .. i have saved money going via hong kong before ...

Nikon 80-200mm f/2.8D ED AF Zoom Nikkor Lens

Shop price:338 Euros

what's that about £325, that must be well below cost price, I wouldn't touch these with a bargepole

cheers guys

For clarity I would not recommend buying from the supplier linked in your original post.

I am aware that there are some reputable Hong Kong suppliers, however they have lost there attraction since the pound lost value against the dollar.

or a blank cheque and ask them to put an amount they think is fair lol
