I've never tried one but this is a quote in answer to a similar question to yours on another forum....

"Cut the bottom out of a Coca-Cola bottle and use that as a lens.It would save you a lot of money and the resolution would be about the same"

I think I'd advise some caution here.

hi there an welcome, errmmm well i will hold my hand up and say i did buy on of the opteka lens when i got my first camera (fuji s5500), and i would it was NAFF, i found it had a soft effect, not sharp at the long end of lens. but will admit the lens i got was a wide lens. dont know what the other members expierence of these lens are?

Opteka makes tele lenses and battery grips but personally, I would rather keep my money.

I've seen plenty of these lenses on ebay and I believe they are a prime example of getting what you pay for.

Think of it this way -

Nikon 600mm £7000 plus

Opteka 650-1300mm £154 or less

The price should really be a clue to quality

You can make your own - an empty bogroll with cling film taped over the end. Write "Opteka" in crayon for full effect.

Cheaper, and it'll be better optically.

I think this might be one of the good results from the web site. So as has already been said - keep well away.

Well it's a kinda toy telescope with a lens mount on the back and focusing will be through a jam jar...

No AF, maximum aperture is f8 and I'm sure some people aren't being honest here, to admitting they have one
