Well, bit of a long shot I know but I'm going to tech in September as a mature student (I'm 32) to do a 2 year HND in photography and I've been given the opportunity to do an 8 week work placement before I start.

Just wondering if there would be any employers within the photography industry would be willing to give me an 8 week work placement before I start tech to basically give me some hands on experience within the sector. Anything photography related would be considered and if it means I've to carry a camera bag for a photo journalist or make cups of tea for customers in a studio environment for the 8 weeks, I'll be happy to do it just to get the experience and see what goes on.

I wouldn't be requiring payment in any way and could probably work about 30 hours a week for the 8 week period. The only condition to it is the employer must have a current public and employers liability insurance certificate.

Ideally I'd like something in the Bangor area of Northern Ireland as my car is currently off the road but I would be willing to use public transport and travel a bit to it if necessary.

Feel free to drop me a pm if you'd prefer.

Thanks

Off the top of my head Bradley Quinn (http://www.bradleyquinn.com/) is based in Bangor/Holywood direction. He's well respected and very busy i'd imagine. I don't know him personally but we have loads of mutual friends. He shoots weddings, commercial and music (mainly snow patrol).

I'll try to get some details, but my cousin is a photographer in N.Ireland who works for some Road Racing paper. He's just come back from the british grand prix in silverstone.
I'll see if who he works for would be able to either help you or put you in contact with someone who could help you.

Cool, thanks Aiden, was quite into motorsport photography in my youth so would be a great experience. Look forward to hearing from you. Cheers :)
