hi

at work, we have a minolta dynax 7d

now, on the cd that came with it, is a program called dimage viewer for raws and also on hte cd is

"Dimage remote camera driver"

I have installed the driver, but I cant see anythign that has changed.

Does any body use that at al, and if so could you tell me anythign about it please.

thanks

I am probably hoping for way too much here, but I am kind of hoping there is a way to conect to the lap top and still be in shooting mode, theoretically using the laptop monitor to review the pic without using the lcd screen on the camera after each shot, instead of taking, them uploading them viewing them etc (so i can see straight way if the light has worked ---- at work I photograph pottery and sometimes it looks very different through the viewfinder than it does after captured)

Even as I am typing this, I am thinking that is way too much to ask, but you never know lol

I'm here with my Dynax 5D. If you've got photoshop or any other RAW editor you might as well bin the minolta one. I'm just off to check what that other D is you mention, back soon.

Hi,

I've got a 7D and I wish that the software could do what you described. I've never tried but I'm pretty sure it can't, I think it's basically a Raw editing application. I have never used it as I used Raw shooter first and now Lightroom.

Welcome though and good to have another Minolta user amongst the masses of Canon and Nikon disciples ;)

Can't find anything on the remote camera driver yet. But there is a download here for you top shoot whilst tethered to a computer.

If you want any other info on your camera you won't beat www.dyxum.com

Hope this helps,

Kev

thanks for that

unfortunalty i need to update the firmware (this cam is still using 1.0a)

but for the life of me i cant find the 7dv110.exe download. I have found half a dozen seperate instruction documents for installing the update, but not the actual download for it.

any ideas ?

thanks again

hold it right there.

excellent thanks guys

I even phoned the konica support line and asked if they coudl tell me where to get it (they said they woudl phone back)

I am actually a nikon user at home, but at work i use the minolta (the minolta is the reason i got a dslr myself)

really apreciate your help, now to do the scary update /gulp

thanks again guys, that is all working now, that really will save me loads of time...

hold on that means i will have more time to do more work.....mmm i detect a flaw in the plan :)

My pleasure. Could be worth asking on Dyxum to see if anyone has managed to get it to work on a Mac. I know nothing about the horrible things I'm afraid ;)
