Hi Guys - Before I pull out what's left of the hair on my head, can anyone help with a problem I'm having with Outlook.

We have 5 users on individual machines and each has their own email address. We want it to be able to make a default address book so that when any user saves an email address, it goes to the same address book. Therefore, when we need to send a flyer out for example, any one of us can send to all the emails together. We currently have a shared address book but it seems to be random where the contacts are saved to and accessed from.

If anyone has any knowledge of this, please help before the computer goes out of the window, closely followed by me!!

This might do it: http://www.codetwo.com/blog/share-outlook-contacts-and-create-a-common-address-book/

If sharing things is as reliable as replication was in NT server then it will be randomly working then not working.

You also have to consider contact policies and what to do about duplicates, naming conventions etc. You do not want everyone piling in the same people with slightly different variations for example.

What mail server app are you using if any? If they're all stand alone you'll need something like the code two above (incidentally the CT guys are really helpful).

(you'll also probably get more help from the computers section)

All depends where your email server is. Is it local on your own server or do you all have accounts hosted by an external company?

Sadly I'm no computer expert, but I know we have our own server which I believe has the "shared contacts" stored. When I right click on a new contact and "add to Outlook Contacts" it stores them automatically into my own "contacts" list (not shared). I then have to copy them into the shared folder for all to see.
The other problem is that when I start to type an email, I get a drop down box with the previously used emails but this doesn't seem to tie in with the Shared Contacts list, but my own Contacts list. Is there any way I can set this so that all contacts go to the shared folder (from the drop down box or for saving new email addresses)?

Sorry but I can only describe in laymans terms.;)
