ok im just about to start doing some E6 development and notice that the chemicals for each step are made up from multiple liquids. What i want to do is have a spreadsheet where i can type in a final liquid amount, ie 270ml, and have 3 figures displayed in the correct ratios required to make it up.

for instance the first dev stage needs a mix made up of water, dev 1 and dev 2 in the ratio of 3:1:1 i think. So how much of each is needed to make up the required 270, or any other amount i might use since i can use a patterson tank which takes 590ml, a jobo rotator which uses the 270 or the paterson orbital which uses a lot less, i think i can get away with about 100ml in that.

So i want a forumla which will break down a figure into its ratio'd parts. The other stages have different ratios of chems but if i can work out the sums for one then i can work it out for all :)

Help me filmies, youre my only hope! You or google i guess.

I don't even understand the question.....:thinking::D

Each part is a fifth.

Water = 3/5ths
Dev 1 = 1/5th
Dev 2 = 1/5th

If I'm understanding you right.

If I've read this correctly and you need three parts water, one part dev 1, and one part dev 2, isn't your formula to calculate the volume of each liquid just this: [(volume of tank)/5] x (number of parts)? So, for instance, your water for your Jobo would be (270/5)*3=162ml.

Easiest way is to just divide the final amount by the number of all parts added up, ie 270 / 3+1+1 = 54ml
So each part is 54ml then multiply that by the number of parts you need for each chemical.
Giving a make-up of 162ml + 54ml + 54ml for a total of 270ml.

Or for 100ml each part is 20ml giving a make-up of 20 + 20 + 60ml

Damnit, should really be more concise!

Yep - 3:1:1
