On how to paint my shed? I want it to look really original and different, i thought about painting a pretend window on the outside showing me inside.
I also thought about putting some eyes on the top of it :) make it look like its watching you.
can anyone else think of anything?
x

p.s i'll post a pic of the shed later on today

Pics added at the bottom :)

that dose not work woodsy did you not watch mithbusters?
i would say only use chalk and make it wight

i want it to look all quirky ;)

i'll just use proper outdoorsy paint
cxx

Pick three highly contrasting colours, rotate the colour along the vertical / horizontal plank every time, until you have a totally screwed up hut.

Or

Make a ZEBRA HUT - how awsome :D black, white, black, white, again using the individual bits of wood as the guide!

Gary.

:thinking:A zebra hut would be cool. then at least i can still look at it when im hungover

still not sure though :bang:

1
Do it, you could also pin a big tail on it, a zebra tail would be easy :)

2
Other idea, paint whatever is behind the hut, onto the front of the hut, so the hut erm looks invisible, however, probably easier said than done!!

3
I dunno, paint a big "hazardoius materials" sign on it, and stick some cheap and scary looking industrial stuff to the roof, like an Dr Evil's layer from an austin powers movie. Must be loads of ideas.

4
Paint a fish tank on it, ie, the hut is the tank.

5
Paint fake doors, put handles on the fake doors, and somehow hide the real doors with selective and creative painting.

You will some serious talent unless you keep it simple, Zebra for example :)

Gary.

lol making it a giant zebra would be pretty cool.

and i like the fish tank idea aswell!

yeah there are loads of ideas and i thought if i ask here i should hear some of them!

like i said i'll post a piccy of the shed itself in a mo, it might give us all some inspiration!

Zebra hut, put it on wheels, take it to a twitchers' convention as your hide, with longest lens painted to match.

Sell the roof as advertising space on google maps/earth

What about painting it to match whatever's behind it? ie make it completely blend in?

Unless that is, you want it to visually jump out at you?

why do you want to paint it anyway? were are the pics of this "hut" so we can see the surrounding and it in its natural enviroment??

:agree:

Saw a shed on 'The One Show' they put on wheels, put in motor, steering and everything, they drive it!!!!! :D :D :D you then go one step further and paint it like a zebra!!!! So got to be done!

Paint it so it looks like a burnt shed,as if you can see through it and the charred supports etc.

ok here are the pics of chez shed

If we can just be serious for a second. Boring old me I know. Do not leave anything of value in there even if it is locked. Thieves will just unscrew the hinges & get in that way. Take about two mins. Camouflage is the way to go!

Hi Mojo Jojo

I painted your shed as suggested with an aquarium click for larger image

Dont think I should have left the door open ooops LOL "No fish were hurt during this production"

Wish I had a shed of my own..

Still have my 20 foot by 10 foot worshop to build - never find the damn time.

Maybe I should consider painting it something like this-your barmy lol

Im installing mine with a alarm-also gonna put metal bar across doors and windows-as im using mine as a studio.

Btw-how can you unscrew the hinges when the door is shut lol
Scrap that ive just seen-why on earth have you got hinges that screw in outside the door-get the ones that are like proper door hinges and are concealed. OMG

What technique did you use to do that? Layers and a blending mode? It's nicely done :)

Thanks Werecow

I took a photo of an aquarium background put it on a new layer, layer mask to mask off areas that I didn't want, and the blend mode was Hard Light, for the water coming out of the door I used part of a photo of a waterfall that I had on a new layer, and masked, no blend mode was used on that layer.
