I've been given a brief for a photography project at college, and we are to do work based around the word "PROTECTION".
So that could be any aspect of the word, any ideas? Thanks

Surely they want to see your response to that theme, not someone elses? Got an ideas of your own to start things off?

Jess, what does "protection" mean to you? What does it make you think of? What images does it put into your head?

Have you looked up the definitions of "protection", flicking through a couple of different dictionaries and a thesaurus should give you some ideas - you can even do it all online.

Why not take some pictures of the additions to something that make it protected?

UV Filters, padlocks, keys.. condoms...

This sounds harsh, but you need to come up with your own ideas! What would happen if it was a client, would you ask on here? Did they give you some ideas of what it might mean on the course? If you had some ideas and were asking for which do we think is better but you have just been lazy and not bother to do any research.

Here is the definition:

pro·tec·tion/prəˈtekSHən/

Noun:

The action of protecting someone or something, or the state of being protected.

A person or thing that prevents someone or something from suffering harm or injury.

When I read you post I imagined at least six different photo's, but I would not tell you any of them as it would be spoiling your photographic journey.
If Once a week you think of words and or sentences and then take your camera and take an image that makes people think of that subject. you will find that the quality of your work will start to improve. (Don't just go for the easy shots, think out of the box aswell).

Good luck with your project and your photofraphic future.

Jack.
