I am after a Nikon 24-70 f2.8 and was wondering if there are any good ebay shops that sell brand new, uk stock lenses (so they would have UK warranty)?
Reason I ask is I have a 10% voucher from ebay to use until 31st Oct so that could potentially save me £100.

Greys of Westminster have a mint used one at £1095 but if used the ebay voucher I could get a new one for that price after discount.

I have searched ebay but there are so many shops it's hard to know which ones are good despite the feedback system. I have read plenty of horror stories of lenses purchased from ebay shops.

Think you will find that it's okay, it's a grubby little shop in the centre of Cardiff - everything covered in dust but in a box should hopefully be okay, there's a thread somewhere about it - mainly comments on the dust but several happy purchasers.

I've just had a thought. Greys do 18 months warranty on used gear if you subscribe to their magazine which I am planning to do anyway. That actually makes it better than Nikons own lens warranty!

Calumet have an eBay store, maybe not the cheapest though.

There is no such thing as a UK warranty for lenses...lenses have an Intl Warranty. The key thing is that you buy from a recognised retailer (does no have to be a Nikon dealer) as the terms of the warranty state you have to be the first "consumer" to own a lens and have a receipt to prove such. If you buy off eBay from someone who is not a known retailer you don't have a warranty even if it's a brand new UK sourced unregistered lens. If you buy from a UK based retailer who imports grey market lenses from HK you do have a warranty.
