As per the title really, does anyone know of any freeware/shareware time lapse software (as in for converting the images to video) available on the net?

I'm looking at shooting some startrails tomorrow night and I'll be looking at using multiple 30 second exposures stacked in Startrails, but I've also read that I could make a mini time lapse video with them :D

Any ideas...?

I use this for my Nikon, I think they have trial versions for Canon too.
I then use Quick time pro to stitch the images together then convert to .avi format or whatever.

*edit* the camera is tethered to a laptop as the images are saved to it and not the camera memory card.
I have one of these for untethered shooting, the images are saved to the memory card.

Thanks for the link, I should have added that I have access to Nikon Camera Control Pro, so no problem capturing the images, just stitching them together... and your saying that Quick Time Pro can do this...?

I need to take a look.

Many thanks :D

Take a look here, a bit more complex in that it does more than just timelapse but worth a try.

Good luck, but remember that when you set up for a nights imaging the clouds will roll in.

Yes the pro version of Quicktime not the freeware version will stitch multiple images, not sure if there is a trial for Quicktime Pro, I paid about £35 for my copy from Apple shop.

Another option, which is free at the moment is the Beta version of Adobe Lightroom 3.

Yes, in the slideshow module.
