I'm asking on behalf for my best friend who had moved to Bristol (specifically Fishponds area) a few weeks ago. She have an electrical cooker which needs to be connected. Are any of you fellow photographers living in Bristol, qualified electricians and could help her out?

She don't need suggestions on how to connect the cooker, just someone to actually pop over and help connect the cooker. She had been trying to find an electrician but had not had a hot meal for a few weeks by now, mostly had to get takeaway.

If any of you happens to be electricians who could offer to help her out, that would be great. Many thanks.

She's not been trying very hard; there's hundreds of them in Yellow Pages.
It's often a case of sorting out the wheat from the chaff. We had a major rewiring done and it went smooth as silk. A neighbour had a smaller job done by a different supplier and ended up with a fire. Turned out the "electrician's" qualifications were bogus as was his public liability insurance. Stories like that do make people nervous and I can completely understand why ME is looking for personal recomendations.

Is the "buy with confidence" scheme still a good source? I got 3 quotes for electrical work a few years back and ended up picking the middle quote.

Job went very smoothly and the guy that signed the certificate was NAPIT registered not the more known NEC/EIC but did as much research as I could before booking them.

PS also found a roofer via that route
