Any Domke F-2 owners help

On my endless "finding the perfect camera bag" journey I think I may have what I'm after but was wondering with the Domke f-2

Will one of the end pockets hold 2 flash guns (canon 580 ex size)?

The main bag has a centre section that can hold 4 lenses , the gap at each side.... I want to put a fuji xt-3 with lens mounted .
(One at each side)

Anyone know if this is possible?

I can fit two Nikon SB-600 in a side pocket but it would be a squeeze to fit two SB-900 in and close the flap. Don't know how that compares to the Canons.

It's not a bag to get if you like lots of padding, but that means you can squeeze things in. I can get two D750s with small lenses attached inside plus a couple of lenses. It should be easier with smaller kit.

Thanks for that . I owned the rugged ware a good few years ago but just can't remember exact sizing . Can you fit both your cameras with lens attached while still having the 4 compartment insert?

Not with lenses attached. I replaced the four section insert with a two section and it all just about fits. The four section can be folded up to two sections but wastes a bit of space, so I bought the other one.

I'm not sure how much bulkier the Nikons are compared to the Fujis.

There is no such thing, it is a conspiracy by the bag manufacturers, they all have a few good features but they make sure that no single bag has all the good features so that you will endlessly search for a perfect bag but never find it.

Lol true . I'm honestly about 20 bags in now . I've had a perfect bag for the last 4 years (billingham hadley pro large) but I've now changed systems and I'm back to square one !!

I'm an F-2 guy from way back. Still use one because I know how. One less thing to learn in my advancing years.

Here's a configuration with 1 DSLR, 24-105mm attached, a 17-40mm and a 70-300mm. That's representative of my standard kit. There's still some room left.

I'd probably say no on 2 580 EX strobes in a single side pouch. Maybe -- maybe -- if both had bare ends. No attachment gizmos.

But a side pouch would take one big strobe for sure. And you could probably stuff one in beside that 17-40. Or figure out a way where it would share a spot with that tele-zoom. That's the beauty of a Domke bag. It's always got nooks and crannies. You can fix it up for your regular kit and always find a place for that stuff you need just for today.



One other thing I like about a Domke bag is that, for me, once the camera comes out it stays out. That leaves plenty of room to work out of while I'm shooting.

Nice to see there are other Domke users on here. I always get the impression that ultra padded bags, rucksack types and Billinghams are the only ones that get recommended.
