Yes
I used to have an old pair a long time ago, but does anywhere sell them in the UK?

Ive had a look on google but cant really find anywhere that looks legit.

Silvermans, in Mile End, I'll find a link.

EDIT: Linkage! They're not the cheapest out there, but their customer service is second to none.

Thanks i'll take a look, might mean a trip up to London though.

Just for reference im looking for something like these

I found these on an english website, but im not sure I trust them.

Danner's are very good...but there are others. Even the current issue desert boot (if Desert is what you're after) are pretty good. Then there's Lowa and Magnum. Me and most of my colleagues use Magnum boots, with a couple of people forking out for Lowa. Nobody I currently work with use Danner though...maybe that says sdomething?

I recently imported a pair of Danner Pronghorn (advantage) from a company called MidwayUK (bit like Cabellas) and they were delivered for £183.00 all in. I prefer them to my Meindl's anyday. So light and comfy. Strange thing is I can't acces their site now.

Meindl do a nice desert boot just like those in your link. I got a pair for £45 brand new on e-bay.

ah I remember Magnum boots, i'll have to look into those over here. Im pretty sure they sold over here more than Danner.

I suppose it depends on what you do for work though.

The Magnum range have come on leaps and bounds from the Original Magnums (now called Magnum Classic) but the hole range is excellent in all respects.

Now I need to find a shop that sells them in the high street.

They are pretty cheap too, in comparison ;)

What I need are lightweight, breathable, toe protecting, black shoes. Tough durable and that don't cook my feet when I have to stand in them for hours at a time.

Millets and Oswald Bailey both stock Magnums, but it's usually a very limited range. You're best bet may be a surplus shop or similar.

Don't bother...very difficult to get warranty issues addressed - I had three pairs fail on me and let water in...

In the Army we all use Lowa boots now - they're the new Danners...German and gorgeous...

Problems with Magnums? Can't say I've ever had issues, but I'm back to my hi-legs now. With zips and sorbothanes in they're far too comfy to switch again!

Oh right

I still wouldn't rule out plain old cheapy combat-highs with a decent insole.

Until you find them falling apart and destroying your feet with trench-foot...

I bought another pair of Danner cos I forgot to put my old ones ( 8 years) back in the boot on a trip to the Solway. They were the best boots in the world. The new ones come pretty close.

I had a pair of magnum Elites, so dam comfy until they finally give up the ghost. Went to replace them and found out about all the problems the magnums were giving. So ended up getting a pair of Lowa's. They take a bit of breaking in, but they are worth it I think, espesh as you can now get them resoled for about £60 if you manage to wear them out!!!

Lowas are gleaming - I have the 'standard' Mountain boots and the Urban Desert boots...no problems at all...

Which model?

Which model?

Lowa Mountain or Lowa Patrol - the patrol boots are about 1.5" taller and have a padded collar... Most blokes use the mountain boots...great for CFT's I used to get a hot-spot under my heels no matter what boots I wore on 'tabs', but with these, nothing at all...supremely comfortable, but try them on before you buy as they don't stretch out as much as other boots - if they feel tight, they'll always feel tight...
