I am looking to have some carpet fitted to a new set of stairs to a loft conversion I've been working on. I have used a carpet fitter loads in the past but he is getting so busy now he's quite unreliable so I'm looking elsewhere.
I have been given a price of £100 by another company but I'm struggling to get others to quote (I guess everyone's busy). Can anyone give me an idea of how much this should cost?
I have a set of 6 straight stairs to a 2sqm half landing then another 5 stairs to a small landing at the top (1sqm). The carpet has been bound to be used as a runner so no bullnose to be carpeted and the stairs are straight. I have already fitted the carpet grippers and underlay and I have the carpet all ready to go.
I know stairs are a pain to fit but at this stage where a lot of the prep work is done, for £100 I'm considering doing it myself, is that expensive or does the price seem pretty reasonable?
Would appreciate any help with this
