Any G1X users here.

Had mine for a few weeks now and really like it - has its downsides (especially close focussing) but the lens and sensor combination seems to work superbly

Would be interested to see if there are any other users around and hear your views

You're not alone.

Got one as a 'beer drinking camera'. Really like the solid feel to it and it fits in a pocket (admittingly) a slightly larger pocket.

Image quality is also very good. Agree with the close focussing - which so far is the only let down. The neighbours kids like the ToyTown image setting :)

Only annoyance - for years I've taken the lens cap off my DSLR and put it in my pocket. Now I still search my pocket for the cap - but no. It's on the end of a bit of string; I will have to get out of that habit.

I was torn between the G1X and the Fuji X10, and i bought the Fuji X10, but have always found myself wondering since......Canon G1X, what if?....

Loving my G1X:thumbs::D

Not at all happy with the handling of the G1X.

I joined the G1Xclub (albeit later than you guys). Paid £375 for mine, and its very good! haven't yet played with al lthe settings yet though..

I've got one, I use it for a take anywhere camera. It is by no means perfect but the image quality is one thing you can't argue with. I recently spent a week in Morocco and decided rather than lug the DSLR and lenses around in the heat I'd just take the G1-X and it performed well, I could confidently bump the ISO up for interior shots and there were only a couple of occasions (doing long exposures in the evening) I missed the 7D. The only thing that really bugs me about it is the viewfinder.

You can see some of them here

Thinking of this as a replacement for my G10. Biggest irritations with my G10 are the time taken to write RAW to memory and the viewing screen performance on sunny days. Will the G1X be better?

I love mine
We went to paris for my wifes 50th i was banned from taking the slr's but i was allowed the G1X here's a few images from it.

The last image is of a little tripod with the G1X i purchased to take with me. A really good addition as it went inside my inner jacket pocket and when my coat was zipped up rode very comfortably.

Regards
Richard

I bought my G1X off Tugster funnily enough and in regards to image quality I have no complaints at all because that's exactly the reason I got it. If you like proper Macro then maybe its not the best choice but I've been getting some fantastic low-light shots. Screen is good, write speed not the best but not the worst either.

I think the G1X is one of those cameras you will either love or hate handling wise. I put up with it's odd bad points because off the results it gives.

Very nice shots Richard, by the way:)
