I don't have a huge budget. Is £500 enough for any decent kit?

Not quite enough, but take a look at the Lencarta Safari
The only other choices I know of are the battery packs that power mains studio flash - but they are heavy and don't provide many flashes

He'll have to join the queue though for when the next lot arrive.
True, there's quite a long waiting list - but good things come to those who wait:lol:

Has anyone tried these...

They are just batteries to use with other studio strobes.

Was thinking of trying them for my elinchroms. They get some good reports, not that expensive, and will probably do for me.

Kris.

these look like a life saver kris, has anyone used these or what do people think about them? If i could attach my intefit 300wat heads to this it would open up huge outdoor location possibilities!

i think im going to have to get moe 1 of these, with my lencarta kit i would have a portable 4 light kit for complex location stuff!

awesome...possibly too good to be true?

I know someone who has the older explorer and speaks highly of it.

Once I have the readies (or santa comes down the chimney) I'll get a set. Not sure what my brides are going to think, but what the hell do they know about good photography anyway? Just imagine f16 in a big softbox all day long...... {sigh}
