I take LOTS of photos of runners and have a couple of events booked in for this weekend. LOUPEDECK have gifted me one of their products and it looks as though it will save me quite a bit of time. I work upstairs, 3rd floor of the house, when editing images. Sounds posh but isn't. My better half gets a bit cheesed off that I'm up there for long periods of time and I'd like to be nearer the kettle to make a cuppa. I tried a setup on the kitchen table. Tablet without keyboard, 1TB external hard drive, Loupedeck and mouse. Only two sockets needed. The tablet is way too slow in terms of response with the Loupedeck. The images will be transferred to my main computer when I've finished editing. Is there a laptop with detachable keyboard, that has a "fast" processor though I'm not too bothered about memory too much. I won't be storing anything on it for any length of time. I know nothing about computers in terms of spec. Thoughts. Limited budget, keep as low as possible. Thanks. Positive comments only please. Ta.
 
I've got a small surface pro - no idea what the processor is. It's 128GB I'll see if I can find out.
 
I guess this idea wouldn't work with the loupedeck but you could "remote desktop" on to your main computer from a laptop/tablet. That way the main computer would be doing all the processing

My computer says that my HOME edition of Windows 10 doesn't support REMOTE DESKTOP
 
100% use remote desktop for this. Even if you pay £120 to upgrade the OS it's cheaper than a new laptop. But yes, you probably won't be able to use your Loupedeck.

Also, licenses are available from OEM sellers on the "usual" auction sites for <£10. The sellers claim that these are legitimate sales and a license I bought that way works perfectly with my Microsoft developers account so it may even be true :)
