Yes
wedding photographs.

Do you prefer the reportage style or the traditional style?

what did you have at your nuptuals?

what do you get asked for mostly?

what do you prefer doing?

When we did wedding photography, I would say that 75% wanted traditional while the others wanted a mix. Funnily enough it was the older ones who wanted reportage (probably cos they already been married before) and the younger brides the more traditional.

The way we worked, we provided both anyway (my wife was the formal and I wandered around) and the traditional people tended to buy the informal ones as prints.

I prefer a mix myself rather than all of one and none of the other.

I go for reportage. I like to document the day not catalogue the guest list. I know people do want that though, a photographic list of who was there. But for me I treat it just like any other event. I document the emotion, the reality of the day. I prefer to capture real moments than construct ones.

One of the reasons I dont do weddings is I find the formal stuff really boring. I am more than apply to assist at a wedding and take photographs of the atmosphere instead of as Pete says a catalogue of the guests.

The formal pictures only have meaning to the guests who were there, the reportage style photos have photoistic merit of their own as well as the tied emotional attachment by the guests.

Do you prefer the reportage style or the traditional style? I prefer not to do them at all, but now and again I will do some.

what did you have at your nuptuals? None, thank god I have never got that far.

what do you get asked for mostly? Formal/Traditional.

what do you prefer doing? See question 1.
