Another 'which pc' question I'm afraid!

Lately I've been thinking about replaceing my laptop with a more powerfull desktop + larger quality monitor, really want to take my photography to the next level so a new editing system seems like the next step.

Not exactly which brand to look for, seen a competent looking machine from advent for around £599 without monitor, would budget £300ish for a quality monitor but choice is fairly limited around these parts so haven't seen anything outstanding yet. The other option is just to plump for a 27inch imac for which I have been dribbling over many times!

My only requirements are that it can cope with PS elements 11 and lightroom 4 and deal with raw files with ease.

Your thoughts greatly appreciated.

As somebody who was brought up using Windows and has been using Mac for the last few years, I like both.

The upsides of going for a PC are the spec can be significantly higher for the price.

If you go for the PC, I wholeheartedly recommend getting an IPS display

Upside top the iMac are simple the fact most stuff just works, simple, plug and play.
But the attention to detail is what I admire simple features like QuickLook, if you've not heard of or seen it before highlight an item in a folder press the space bar and it brings up a preview (even works for RAW / PSD / Illustrator files etc.)

My 2 cents.
