another Website FEEDBACK please!!!!

ok thanks, apart from that?

It isn't 100% finished yet, I need to rethink services etc, just wanting to know what you think, useablity etc

l may be half blind, but l am finding the lettering too small against that black. l'd either lighten it, or make the font bigger.

Some is fine...ut like under your commissions section....really hard at the smallest sizes.

hmm its ok overall.

I am a bit of a code nazi, so I would change the H2 tag to a H1 tag, and the text below should be in P brakets and not H5 tags.

also you have set the top header to have inline CSS but then used normal HTML to declare an Underline, which should be done in the css ideally.

However you only see this when viewing the code :D

Probably change the colour of the top header and make it bigger, and make the text different..

Here is a quick version I did:

It's not a bad site, but then it's not a good one either.

You need to work on optimising your site for search engines. OK you have keywords in your meta info but TBH most search engines pay very little attention there any more; they look more at the content. Looking at your main page (possibly the most important one) you don't actually have any of your keywords in your content, the closest you come is "Newbury based photographer". As a side thought as you travel to Portsmouth and Southampton for your boat photos, is being Newbury based likely to get you many sales? If not don't mention it and advertise that the boat photos are Portsmouth and Southampton.

On the gallery page I didn't see any photos or galleries on my screen (1024x728) until I scrolled down. When you enter the galleries (at least the landscape and portrait ones) the photo slideshow went past each photo far too quickly and the transitions were irritating, if you are going to have fancy transitions make it a simple one and stick to just one type.

I find the empire logo top left confusing - is this part of your business or part of a template. The top left is where I would expect to find a branded link back to the front page of the website.

Your print prices are way too cheap for a piece of orginal art. I'd suggest a minimum of £8 for a 6x4 and about £50 for an 18x12. I am also confused as to your sizes other than 6x4 and 18x12 which are 3x2 they are all different aspect ratios meaning that your images will need cropping; who decides where that crop is going to be made (please don't say photobox). Plus I am suprised you give away your copyright, a licence for unlimted use is effectively the same thing and that way you can use the photos yourself on your website without asking permission from the client.

One final point (and one I am guilty of myself) you don't have many pictures on your pages (other than a small one on your front page), you are a photographer, sell yourself with your images.

It's a good start but with some more thought and effort it could be so much better.

It's a good effort, but you want critique so hear you go:

Good points

1. Simple black, white and grey, works well

2. Simple to find my way around, good for maintaining interest

3. Search option, very useful if the site is going to grow

Areas for improvement

1. Your border around the outside of the content stops at a 1/3 down and then at 1/3 up, should be all the way round I think

2. Centralised text and image on the homepage, doesn't tie in line with the rest of the site

3. Why are you getting people to log in/register? If so have you considered storage of data and most importantly data protection?

4. Some pages just have too much text, break it up with images and different layout styles

Hope this helps :)
