In perspective, a suicide bomber killed forty five people in Yemen yesterday, why is it only crazy Americans who get our attention?

Seems odd to attack the Sikhs, a complete misunderstanding of their faith to a legacy of 9/11 being mentioned in the press. Who knows what goes through a persons head when they are committing these acts.
If people knew what happened in Mexico every single day of the week in most cities they would be horrified, over 90 people butchered in the first half of last month alone in my ex's city.
The youngest was a 6 yr old girl, executed along with her grandmother, her 12 year old sister survived, the reason? cos her mother is a police officer who wouldn't take the cartels bribes, so they execute the whole family.
It kind of puts into perspective a lone nutter going on the rampage..
Again though a common cause ... drugs/gangs.
Thats not really the cause, its an effect of the cause. The cause is poverty.
Banks again in it.![]()
Sorry you can't blame everything on poverty!
When I was young we were in real poverty after my dad died ... it didn't make us arsonists, thieves and murderers, it made us get off our backsides and make a life ... in most cases poverty is an excuse for wrongdoing not a reason for it.
in a world fast outpacing their dreams
Exactly, their wants not their needs.
All crime is wrong whether 'blue collar' or 'white collar', excuses are just that.

Come on Gramps, make a life out of frigging what  Been to Mexico, try standing on top of the Severn Bridge and imagine that whichever direction you look in all you can see is a slum area. There is poverty and there is poverty.
only one solution...ban guns!
America are the dumbest country in the world right now
Like the paediatrician who was attacked because someone thought it meant paedophile![]()

I don't think it was.
Afternoon Ian,And please no talk of legalise it, seriously the cartels would still control it, they wont let go, the only way is to start killing the members and dont stop until they and anyone who would fill their shoes is dead.
iancandler said:Not at all, though they might look like slums to us they are normal living standards to those that live there and inside most are pristine.
The problem is one of greed, not need and in mexico's case endemic corruption that goes right to the very top.
Again though its easy for us to judge as we aren't the ones facing the choice between a bullet or often much worse (the mexican siccario's do get a bit chainsaw happy) for you and your whole family or take the money.
Drug consumption world wide is the driving force that allows the cartels to make billions of dollars each year.
After seeing what happens there and knowing that drugs in both the USA and Europe are passing through the cartels hands, I tend to think of it as each gram of coke someone buys has cost at least 3 lives en route.

Yeah that really worked for Mexico didn't it! and us for that matter.
(Yes mexico has a complete gun ban) in both cases the only people who have the guns are the bad guys, the good guys cant even have them for their own self defence.
Hi Gramps,
what was widely reported as something akin to a howling, vigilante mob attack, was actually a couple of kids and some paint....
This gives a little more info
It isn't the slums that are killing Mexicans Rich it's guns and knives of the drugs gangs ... nobody has to do that.
Following your argument there wouldn't be any slums ... they would all have killed themselves!
Afternoon Ian,
If it would be legalised / decriminalised in the UK / USA, where would the money come form for the mexican cartels? The drugs wouldn't need to pass through mexico at all....
Like I said a paediatrician attacked because someone thought it meant paedophile![]()
