To say I am cross is an understatement.
I was expecting an urgent delivery today from amazon I ordered it yesterday and I paid the extra for next day delivery as Amazon guaranteed delivery by 1pm on Saturday.
Got the dispatch confirmation last night saying they've shipped by Royal Mail Special Delivery, arrhhhh I know that this isn't guaranteed for a Saturday delivery so about 10:00 this morning just before wanted to go out I checked the Track And Trace number and according to Royal Mail it had been delivered this morning (but no further information) which it hadn't
I then phoned the RM help number and after the standard 30minutes of press 1, press 2, speak clearly to a computer etc, I got through to a person who gave the phone number of the local sorting office. 5 minutes trying to ringing them they finally answered and explained the situation, they asked me to hold on and when they finally came back on the phone they said "it's here, we don't deliver these on Saturdays because we don't have to!" to which I said "but according to the Track and Trace service this has been delivered, how did that happen?" to which they said "no idea" :bang: :bang:
I ended up driving at break neck speed over to the sorting office to catch the guy before he went home and collect my parcel.
The thing that ***** me off most was the casual attitiude to a package that requires signatures and the fact that they had reported it as delivered!! If I was a synicle person I would say this is down to keeping the delivery performance statistics loking good. The only thing that is keeping me semi same is that by fudging performance stats they are sabotaging their claims that the changes by management are detrimental to the public
