Thank you very much to you both, this is my dad who passed away last year and my mum wanted to show this picture of him with his long hair to the grandkids, smashing job thanks again.
 
If you email me a higher resolution copy it is possible to make a much better job. It is not the only one I have done for folk in similar circumstances as i am involved in our village archive and have photos going back to the 1880's, even from glass plates found in sheds.

You should do some tutorials for us then Fangman ;) as my hubby has quite a few really old pikkies that I'm gagging to have a play with.

I was going to clone out curtains, but that adds to the age of the photo. Steps were :-
- Neat Image - high settings on most sliders
- Unsharp Mask
- Bit of cloning & smudging to get rid of line as much as poss.

No probs...magic of "Neat Image" really :)
 
Its amazing what you can do these days with the right skills, looks like a massive improvement:thumb:
