Hello there, I'm Decca /takes off hat
It's always very hard to know what to put in these threads, I'm a mother of two children and have many many animals. Three dogs, two kittens, a hamster and a Egyptian Uromastyx lizard. No fella but I can change a fuse and have one of those grip things that helps you open jars so it's all good.
Many many moons ago I used to potter about with my father's old SLR and various 1980s/90s compacts but then I decided that I liked CDs more than spending my pocket money on film and processing and it all rather fell by the roadside.
Fast forward to a couple of months ago and I got the idea of starting up again, I had been saving £5 a week in a "me" account and had enough to get an entry level DSLR so I did my research and went to the local shop.
I first tried the Canon 1100d and went "It's really shiny, is this my first dslr by tonka?" It felt alright and was clearly a very fine camera but we never bonded.
Then I was handed the Nikon D3100 and it was love at first sight/hold. Everything about it just felt right and I'm pretty much thinking about taking photos with it every spare moment I get, unfortunatly I got it when the weather was bad and then when the weather was good the children were off so I've not been able to go out and take the photos I want yet but they go back to school tomorrow..
