Im off tomorrow on my first holiday of the summer (had none last year, so dont be like that :p)!

Im going to France for the Le Mans Classic event. For those who dont know, this is an historic racing event with back-to-back races of around half-an-hour each over a period of 24hrs on the full Le Mans circuit.

My old man and I are going in this:

So not much luggage space, and no security at all. This means I cant take my motorsport lens :(

There will be plenty of pics taken though, as Im taking my D70 and a few other lenses. I might even try night racing shots again with the old 50mm.

In total there are over 300 Morgans going (iirc), but we wont be in one big convoy even though that would rock! We are in hotel with just Morgans though, which is pretty cool. I know some of the other cars too, which is good.

We are off tomorrow night, and back on Monday.

have a good time joe, i drove around the Le mans circuit a few years ago, not racing, i just got lost.

I'm back!

Twas a good trip! The drive home from Portsmouth in the rain last night without the hood up was fun :thinking:

The weather did hold up most of the time. A few days were a bit overcast, but at least they were cooler!

I saw some amazing machinery. There were well over 1000 Porsches there, the vast majority parked in one single area. There were 300 Morgans too - when driving around the roads outside of Le Mans you would have thought that British sportscars were the prime form of life! The ferries there and back werent any different! I also saw two Buggatti Veyrons - one in the paddock and one on public roads.

I filled my 4x1GB cards. I didnt go overboard on photos due to a lack of space, and that I didnt want to take rubbish!

Anyway, I'm downloading the images now. I hope to hae some fo you to see later today, but it might take longer than that!

Obviously its at night. The EXIF are as follows:
1/25th <----- ive never panned at anything like as slow as this before
iso 1600
f2.8 <------- I managed to take the big lens in the emd ;)
300mm
There wasnt much light as you can see from the above!

I know the whole car isnt in it the frame, but I still think it looks ok. I have used the despeckle option in CS2, but havent done any other noise filtering.
