Hello, my name is Simon Freese, I have been interested in photography since I was a child, my interest waned for the best part of the last decade as I realised that the black and white film photography that I loved was becoming increasingly obsolete with the takeover of digital. I had no interest in digital, and other things in life took over. I have gradually found myself becomng more interested in digital photography over the last couple of years, I am a watchmaker and take lots of photographs of watches and watch movements as part of my job, and this has led to a rekindled interest. In order to progress with this, I am just about to obtain Photoshop CS3, and have enrolled with the OU to do their short photography course, which I hope will be useful. I will upload some of my watch movement photographs when I start using the forum, just to show what I have been up to! Just out of interest what section would this sort of photography go in to? Most of my shots are not macro in the sense that they are extremely close up, but they are photographs of watches that are quite small objects!
Years ago, I used to take medium format black and white, mainly landscape, these days I would be more interested in improving my studio photography, and hope that this will be a good place to help me progress in this area. I am also looking forward to seeing the efforts of others and learning from the comments that they obtain.
