Another neebie

Hi everyone,

Just thought I'd say a quick hello. Found this place via people mentioning it on AVForums, so thought I'd come along and sign up, mainly to get tips from people with far more talent/experience than me!

I've had a DSLR for a few years now (D40) but up until recently I was being abit lazy and had it stuck on auto most of the time. However after my recent honeymoon to Malaysia, on which I took loads of nice pics, I decided to start taking things abit more seriously and have just purchased a new Nikon D5000 and have caught the photography bug to go with it.

I'm still very much a beginner to all the technical stuff like working out the correct aperture, shutter speeds etc etc, but I'm learning quite quickly. I'm sure it'll all come to me after some practice. I've also booked a one day course down in Devon to go out on the Moors which I'm really looking forward to.

Anyway, great looking forum and I hope to see some people around the place!

Hi, there.

I've only been here a while, but I have to say, it's one of the most friendly (and honest, so be aware when asking for feedback..!) forums that I've been a member of.

One of the main issues that I see, is members asking for C&C on their photogtaphs but not giving it.

I'm not afraid of a bit of criticism really, afterall how else do you learn?! I know there are alot of people far more experienced round here who know what they're talking about and I'm just beginning, so I'm happy to bow to their knowledge!

As for giving C&C, I'm up for giving what I can and think it's only fair to give it as well as recieve.
