Hey film folks. I have posted here, mainly in the polaroid thread as some of you may have seen. I think that gave me a film itch that I needed to scratch. I love shooting polaroids. Not just because of the end result, but using the cool cameras too. I have shot 35mm film before on an EOS 10 that I aquired on here. Whilst the results were ok, the problem for me was it was too similar in operation to my 5D. AF, controls, same lenses etc. I may as well just use the 5D? SO I have just got my hands on a Hasselblad 500C/M from the classifieds. It comes with the T* lens but a silver one which seems unusual as I believe most of the T* ones were black? Anyhoo, I have a few rolls of Tri-X that came with it so I really need to get out and shoot some portraits with it. Hope to post some soon. :)

Very nice indeed! I'm sure you'll love it.

As for the silver/black lens thing, I think the silver ones are possibly earlier examples. Apparently some of the earlier ones before the T* was introduced also had the same coatings. In any case, it's one of those classic lenses with an incredible reputation.

I keep wondering if I need a Hasselblad... In practice my Rolleicord does mostly the same job as a Hassie with standard lens. But usually when I have this feeling I find I end up succumbing to temptation eventually.

Well done Gaz, look forward to seeing the results. I've just been looking at 'Blads myself, I think I need to at least have one for a while just to satisfy my curiosity.....Mmmmm bonus money in April, maybe then.

500CM.....great choice Gareth :)

Thanks for the welcome. I have been playing with the camera and think I have pretty much got to grips with all the operation. I'll be using the 5D as an expensive light meter for the time being I think, until I can get a pocket sized one, and I need to get some colour film. I also need another dark slide as I have 2 backs, but only one slide. Oh, and some willing volunteers to let me shoot them. :)

Thanks for the heads up. I still need to get one! Although I need to use the thing first really.
