Another joins the band

The drink & drugs were bound to shorten their lives I suppose.
I think that's a reasonable assumption, I bet Ozzie is feeling a little twitchy too!

RIP Jimmy

It's going to be some gig, but hopefully it will be a long time before I get to see it :D

I'll agree with that, great album and cover art
Gods got one hell of a mega group going at the moment

Time to add another. Paul Kantner. Aged 74. Co-founder of Jefferson Airplane.

I was fearing the worst when I read this morning that Black Sabbath have had to cancel some dates on account of Ozzy being taken ill. Thankfully it's only extreme sinusitis.

This band line up is getting bigger, Maurice White now of Earth, Wind and fire.

Any Rock Band members in their late 60s must be feeling very nervous!

I am in my early 60s and I feel nervous! Especially as early last year I had a stroke and am still recovering from it's effects.

End of the day, the 70s were famous for excesses in the music industry so I suppose it may be no coincidence that they're checking out at similar ages. The drink & drugs were bound to shorten their lives I suppose.

Depends what you mean by shorten. I know of loads of ex colleagues I worked with who led gentle lives and went in their 60s after very shprt illnesses. It was not that many generationds ago that getting past your 60s was an achievement. Bill Wyman has been doagnosed with cancer at 79.

Now being reported that Santa Monica Police are now treating Emerson's deatha as SUICIDE and that he may have shot himself... 04:00

And the floor show has arrived.

Knew he was ill but not how close the end was for him.
