Thats right i'm looking to but my own flash lighting setup to hopefully try to make a little money on the side. I have been looking at the Elinchrom Dlite4 kits but now i see there is somthing else tickling my fancy.... the FX400 kit. Now apart from price which one is the better to purchase (the Fx kit comes with brollys so they look the better option but for 150 quid exta am i really get my money's worth?
Are there any peeps out there more in the know than me....:lol:

(heres links for the two products from WHEx.co.uk)

Many thanks in advance guys!

Both are good units. The FX range is 'real' Elinchrom, the D-Light range is an update from their cheaper Prolinca range. Nothing wrong with it, but the FX should have more stable colour temperature and higher build quality.

The problem with Elinchrom is the cost of accessories. You might want to consider buying into a system that uses Bowens 'S' fitting accessories - there are a few different manufacturers competing with each other so the prices are much better.

As I keep saying on forums, this is the time of year when new models/ranges are announced, if you sit on your hands for a week or two you may get much better options...

Thanks Garry, I must admit this time of year is always hard, new things come out, retailers get twitchy and reduce old stock etc etc.... so i think i will wait, cheers.
