Another 'Goodbye Old Friend' Thread

15 years ago, I had an accident whilst hacking out and, whilst I wasn't seriously injured, my confidence took a massive knock and I didn't get back on a horse for 5 years. I was eventually coaxed onto a chestnut mare (ironically same as the horse I came off 5 years earlier) and she looked after me brilliantly.

I learnt today that she had to be put to sleep today after an accident (she was kicked by another horse in the field). Absolutely gutted.

I was devastated when I lost my dear old Toby to pet heaven, he could be a rascal at times but was the most loyal dog I ever owned

Thing is, I realised that I haven't, for one reason or another, seen her for over a year but we have kept in touch with her owner via text and Facebook. The feeling of sadness doesn't diminish though.
