Been lurking for a little while, im a complete Novice who has always had an interest in photography but due to lots of different things never actually got round to it, well im here and the learning curve is steep, I purchased a D80 2nd hand from Evilbay and have a couple of lenses to go with it so please go easy on me

Im originally from the North of England (Cumbria) but left in 84 when I joined the RAF, been living around various parts of the world and UK since then, after living in Spain for the last 6 years im now back and living in Essex, I have a large family, 5 kids, aged from 10 down to 6 months old (I know, glutton for punishment) I did have a foray into photography many many years ago, in the late 80s, I bought a Canon AV1 and then an Olympus OM10 but slipped into obscurity for the next 20 odd years with various things, So thats who I am, ive enjoyed my weeks lurking in the shadows but time to make myself known

By the way, I took this image 20 odd years ago on my old Canon AV1, I recently rediscovered it and thats what prompted me to get back into photography, no motor wind, just right time right place :-)

Actually its Just off Episkopi in Cyprus in 1989 :)

I dont think the Thames estuary has ever been that colour !!!

thanks Grahame, sometimes I wish I was still in but thats life, been lurking here for a couple of weeks and find im getting information overload, spending far too much time browsing here, much to the dismay of the rest of the tribe, but so much fantastic information :)
