Another Food Question

Not a How To book exactly but I bought a Gordon Ramsay book last year called "*** Chef". The first half of the book is just the photos (food and reportage shots) with the actual recipes in the second half. The photographs are absolutely stunning and, if you're looking for ideas and inspiration, worth buying the book for alone. The photographer is Quentin Bacon.

Tommy thanks for the links, the last one looks really good and I already have the 2nd one but it's more about how to fake good food e.g brushing steak with wood stain!

Fabs I have the GR book so I'll go back and study the photos, it's an amazing book but tbh until now I've only really concentrated on the recipes. I certainly have plenty of cookbooks to inspire me (well over 250 eek).

Working the Plate is a great read and has some excellent advice paired with stunning photography. But I think most readers would find themselves feeling a little short-changed as while the content is undeniably good, at first glance the book doesn't really show you how to apply those techniques to other dishes.

But if you look a little further and really take in the advice on offer, you'll be able to apply the ideas and methods presented in the book to all manner of dishes and not just what's demonstrated on the pages themselves. You've just got to be willing to learn and not expect to have a step-by-step guide to instantly becoming an expert food stylist.

You'd be the ideal person to get a lot out of the book. It sounds like the latter pair of reviewers on the Amazon page were hoping for something else.
