I bought a remote (wired) switch for the 40D recently cost me a £10: 98p inc P&P very quick delivery
but its the wrong one! The end is far to wide to fit into the appropriate jack hole. I have no Idea what it fits
I have been emailing the seller since mid-day Sat and lo and behold no response.
They advertise a 14 day no qibble guarantee but I guess that assumes you can actually get hold of them :bang:

Not good. But it is the weekend, maybe give them a chance to reply on a working day.

Might just be the time of year don't you think?

Agreed - they have some neg feedback but compared to level of sales, a very small percentage, it might just be that they are trying to enjoy a few days off too, give em a reasonable chance [bearing in mind the time of year], then jump on them if they dont respond ;)

I have tried the ebay "contact seller" and their email address as well, if your right and they do respond in the next couple of days I will set the record straight, and apologise
But As I am a cynical git I won't be holding my breath ;)

If you payed by paypal you're covered in any event finamcially but give them a decent chance to sort it and if they don't then they deserve to be on the list of "don't touch with a bargepole"

Going against my own advice I bought a step-up ring from a very active trader on Ebay, it never arrived and after an initial response they just ignored all my emails for a replacement then a refund of all my costs as I had sourced one from elsewhere. I even threatened and then gave negative feedback. Finally after lodging a dispute under Ebay rules he sends a replacement not a refund.:bang::bang::bang:

I let it end there as only £4.98 was involved and was able to find a home for it.

Just goes to show - I've bought a few things (el-cheapo triggers, umbrella/flash stands) from eshop898 and haven't had any probs. That said, nothing's gone wrong so can't really comment on after-sales.

UkVillage_Alpha (or whatever they're called) are ones to avoid for me. Bought a pair of flash stands which, despite their own order tracking system saying they had shipped, were out of stock. They were quick to refund but then asked me to remove the neutral feedback. No chance.

That's why I never spend more than I want to lose on ebay.

I have bought loads off ebay and have very few problems but a lot of the sellers are doing this part time. I agree, might be worth waiting till new year before giving up hope!

Well I did say that I would post a follow up to this and appologise if required so nearly two weeks on from recieving the first...............
It has been very much like pulling teeth all the way through sporadic emails.........
Ok send back the item for replacement.............
Ok you send me you address................
address arrives.................
sent recorded..................
Tracked package ..............
Emailed seller to say that I knew it had arrived.............
seller emails back I need to check the item............
For what ?...................
Seller emails replacement in the post.............
Arrives today..............
Guess what?...............
Yep its the wrong FRIGGIN' ONE.....................AGAIN........:bang:
I am just about to put finger to keyboard now with a few of those special explicatives included that I reserve for total ass-holes.................

I wish I'd seen this before rashly buying from this seller.

I wanted a flash slave trigger, needed it in approx 9 days time so picked a uk powerseller, buy it now, paid straight away through paypal.

After a week item hadn't arrived so I mailed and got back "Item sent please wait"

A couple of days more and it hadn't arrived so emailed again, no response. In the end I bought one from a local shop.

So I continued to chase every couple of days without response and after 15 days it still hadn't arrived so I informed the seller again, told him I assumed he'd now make a claim for a lost package and asked for a refund.

Still no response.

So I gave him a few more days then said I've give him another 24 hours then file a negative feedback for poor comms and start a paypal dispute.

Still no answer so I've kicked off the dispute.

Seller then gives me a neg feedback saying "Not Honest"

Checking his other feedback it appears he either ties items to the back of tortoises or he doesn't have stock and they come from China as lots are saying it's a long wait.

I'd avoid this seller at all costs. Poor customer service and just want's your money, nothing else.

and this is why ebay are removing the seller's ability to negatively rate their buyers.

Far too many cases of people paying straight away and not getting the item/recieving poor service from the seller so they leave negative feedback only to be negatively rated back by the seller in retaliation even when they've done all they can do.

When the change comes in it will upset a lot of sellers, but at least it'll stop the feedback situation above from happening again.

Sorry to hear that byker :(
I did get sorted EVENTUALLY then the twit emailed me and asked me to leave positive feedback........
I couldn't think of a polite thing to say so I just let it slide.......
I wonder how many others do just that so the assholes can't leave snotty feedback in return?

Glad its all sorted.
Just a quick heads up about the PayPal protection. There is a fee payable to PayPal for them getting your money back, i cant remember how much, but a friend of mine (Morph on this forum) was left with about 50p after they had taken their cut.
Dean:)

Here's another one 'etefore'

I must have been lucky in my dealings till now but this guy makes up for it all!

I bought a filter to go on my new Bigma from etefore on the 2nd feb, nothing had arrived by the 19th so I mailed him asking where it was, he replies "sorry we don't have any we'll get some in a couple of weeks, you can wait or we'll refund"
I think jeez they could have said that 3 weeks ago, I opt for the refind and buy one elsewhere. The refund arrived quickly and all was well...or so I thought.
2 days later I get an unpaid item dispute raised against me for the item, I think wtf?? So I reply saying no stock, refunded etc blah expecting him to say oops sorry and withdraw it. Instead I get nothing, so after a couple of days I reply again asking what is going on and again nothing, another 2 days and I'm getting annoyed so I contact eBay asking them to help sort it they are no help as expected then this morning I see etefore has left me negative feedback say "Please repay as in stock now"

I'm flummoxed

Just report them to Ebay. When i had trouble it got the ball rolling quickly.

What a w'ker! all i can suggest is that you leave really nasty feedback, I mean no hold barred.......
then I am sure he will apply to have the feedback "mutually withdrawn" that is yours and his

Just had exactly the same problem with URgalaxy and my 17-55mm.

They repaid my money through Paypal and then left me with a non payer strike ... Not left a negative feedback yet.

I've already left him negative and I don't want it withdrawn but it rankles that I have to live with his negative 'on my record' it's the first time anyone has ever left me negative feedback and it's obvious it was done out of spite. I've asked eBay to remove it but they won't, this guy is a power seller and makes them loads of money.

The removal of feedback has to be done mutually, Steep.
Where both parties agree to remove what they have left,
I didn't realise that you had already left you feedback .Thats why I suggested that it should be really nasty. Far worse than yours, so he would ask you to remove it.
I guess you know you can also leave a "reply" to the Negative he left you?

Always a good idea in leaving negative feedback to Hong Kong sellers is to mention that people should buy from a competitor .... eg DigitalRev etc.

Saving 'face' is worth a lot over there and may get the desired neg feedback removed mutually.

Good plan

One thing it shows about etefore is they are very fond of using the unpaid item trick. Cheers Byker28i good find.

If you get a refund from someone and they then pull the unpaid item stunt on you, just enter the original paypal transaction ID in the dispute. Ebay will rule in your favour and the seller will lose his fees.

Cheers for that hermie, I had given details of the payment/refund but hadn't included a reference number. Done that now.

Hi I have just bought a remote trigger from this seller with no problems but he had the item in stock so maybee I was lucky
I have been temped by the prices of lenses on ebay but I dont think I'd chance anything on ebay that expensive
Pete

Paypal settled the dispute in my favour today.

Eshop898 has immediately started an Ebay non payment dispute against me!

This guy is incredible - avoid at all costs.

How come this guy hasn't been banned from Ebay with all the complaints o.0

Thanks for the heads up on him, I have been browsing Ebay for lenses recently..

Honestly - if you're after new lenses give Kerso a shout. I've bought from him as have many others. Keen prices, good supply and delivery.

I had this sort of problem with a guy called UKFlashman i bought a SD card from him paid the postage he asked £4.99 next thing i got was letter from the post office stating he had underpaid postage so i had to pay another £1.29 to get it all he did was put a 1st class stamp on it i e-mailed him several times got no responce at all so left him NEG feedback only for him to do the same to me and i quote
it was post office mistake should contact us 1st 2 solve prob. be4 neg feedback
, i should of checked his feedback first i am not the first to fall for it

we recommended this shop.

Having had a look at their feedback I think I'll take your recommendation under advisement:cuckoo: I'll be avoiding them like the plague!

You can get you money back, you dont lose anything, that is ok, i think we need to avoid sellers who just take you money away, my friends and I buy things from eshop898 very often, there is little problems sometimes, but we are very happy with them, It is better than buy from Hongkong or china, not need to pay import duty and protected by british law, we recommended this shop.

Welcome to Talkphotography eshop898. You did email me telling me you were going to register and promote your business. :D

Having had the paypal dispute settled in my favour the seller immediately lauanched an ebay non payment dispute against me. As soon as I emailed he closed the dispute giving me an unpaid strike.

Hardly the kind of seller one wishes to use and sellers like this are why I've almost stopped using ebay.

The Grammer in this post and your Ebay adverts are almost identical.

Now that you have insulted our intelligence with this drivel, I shall join the long list of people who would not recommend this company

This is interesting I go out for the evening and miss a chance to confront the subject of my post :(
Looks a though he is no longer a member though ?:shrug:Did he get banned?
Still you guys seemed to have done a fair job for me

Sorry Chris .... Not sure what has happened here ...

Last bit of this thread makes very little sense now.

This one also looks odd now.

Looks like he got more than banned ... He got wiped from the TP planet ... :D

I see what you mean Kev .............Weird But still a result as I see it :D
Unless a mod bod want's to jump in to clarify things I guess we will never know
