Another Corel Paintshop Pro X8 question

I have a brand new Acer laptop, the spec is pretty decent and well capable of running this editing suite, Windows 10, 8GB ram, 1TB hdd and an A6 quad core with Radeon 4 graphics.
The problem I am having is getting the trial software to install pas 40% it downloads fine but stops the install at 40%............any ideas anyone, I have tried installing with firewall turned off and as administrator.

Does it give you any messages when it stops? Obviously you can try right click and compatibility settings on the installer. That would be my first thing to try.

No error message, it just stops and says there was a problem, cant do anything with the error box apart from close it

I guess AV is another one to look at. I had McAfee recently stop an installation too. Did you try compatibility settings yet?

Will have another go and let you know, I am using Defender as it came with the laptop
