another card reader question

I have a I mac which is the fastest card reader I can use ,I have seen usb3 does macs use this?

If its a fairly recent iMac then yes they have usb3. You could also look for a thunderbolt card reader as its meant to be many times faster than USB. Don't know how expensive they are though.

You can tell if its got usb 3 by looking at the socket ... the small plastic piece inside on usb 3 are blue, all others are white.

What card formats do you need? For SD I have a Kingston MobileLite G3 USB3 reader. Even over USB2 it's much faster than the old cheap 7 day shop on I have. It can't do CF, but it's small and best of all it was only £6.

not always. becides, latest iMacs are not USB3 equipped.

Mine are grey colour can you use usb3 in normal usb sockets.

Some USB computer ports have a blue insert. Why don't I see blue inserts on my Mac's USB ports?
Some manufacturers use a blue insert to designate a USB 3 port or device. All USB ports on Macs that supports USB 3 are USB 3 capable and do not have blue inserts.
