Yes
ok i know this subject as been flogged to death, and im guilty for starting and taking part in them
that was over 12 months ago, and then i decided to buy a mint 2nd user 5d classic
its been a superb camera, but now i got the bug for upgrading,
problem is as before. i do landscape so full frame, and i also do wildlife so 7d crop would be better.
on sun i was on the farne isles and a crop body and faster AF would have been great
so i been looking at both bodys, (again)
do i keep 5d and get 7d
or do i keep 5d and get mk11
i still got my 350d and 30d, i kept them as spares and dont use them, so if i keep my 5d classic that probably wont get much use so should i sell that whilst it still in good cond with only around 18,000 clicks on
also could a 5d mk111 or 7dmk11 be on the cards soon

Sell the 5d to me

Thats what you should do ;)

LOL
its a great camera but my other half keeps asking how many cameras i need
ive 3 now and another would make 4
so when i do upgrade i probably will sell it . hopefully it wont be too long
keep an eye on the for sale section
guess it would be easier to toss a coin heads 5dmk11 tails 7d

Do that.

One of the best ways to make a decision is tossing a coin, not because it will decide for you but as the coin is in the air you'll know which way you really want it to land ;)

i guess what i should be asking is more technical stuff
which has the better focusing for say bird photography etc

You've not really said why you want to upgrade, so it's hard to advise on that basis. That said, out of the choice between having a 5d classic and a 5dmkii, or a 5d and a 7d, I'd assume the latter would give you more options. Unless the 5dmkii gives you something you really miss now, that the 7d can also not give you, I'd have thought the 7d and 5d classic would give you the best of both worlds. You can then upgrade the classic, should you want to in the future.

sorry for the lack of info
ok better iso is one main reason. the 21mp of the 5dmk11 would give good scope for cropping,
quicker AF
if i went for a better, or more updated body i probably would sell the classic
as it would only just gather dust
ideally i would go for 7d and 5dmk11 but thats not an option (unfortunately )

If you want to bird then get the 7D, still doesn't beat the 5D in some aspects but in areas like AF and continuous shooting it really does.

As you will notice, I'm just a little ahead of you in the camera camp so you could be me in a year or so ;)

I'm terrible, I can't let an old camera go so they pile up and get used sometimes. I really need to get rid of the 30D as it isn't being used at all any longer.

If you would like specifics about any other elements just ask. My 7D gets used when I'm shooting sports/wildlife in conjunction with the 1DmkIII, the 5DmkII and 5D go out together as main weapons at weddings, portrait shoots. If I could only have one camera to shoot most things I would probably have the 7D but for my main use I couldn't live without the 5DmkII as for people work it rocks!

putting the fps aside for now. is the Af much better on the 7d

Fully agree. That's why I just added a 5D MKII as a second body even though I am absolutely happy with the 7D. They just complement each other

I am happy with the 7D for birding and both the 7D and 5D classic for weddings. It is nice to have both crop and full frame as you can use the same lens and get different focal lengths!

Keep the 5D, Sell the rest and get and the 7D, job done.

Middle ground 1.3 crop 1D Mk3 best of all worlds?

Matt

sell them all, get a 1Dsmk2. Saw one for sell here last week, in fact I don't think you need to sell 350D to get enough fund.

right i made my decision
i put my 5d for sale on here yesterday. up to then i still wasn't 100% sure what to go for
anyway tonight i went out and took my 30 d out, (the 5d is boxed and ready to go)
anyway i was shocked how much i missed the full frame, the 17-40 is just not the same on the crop body
it was then that i realised how much i had got used to the full frame sensor
so im getting the mk11 2nd hand or new and maybe look for a 2nd hand 7d for wildlife etc
although with the 21mp sensor i can crop more, to equal the 7d reach. just wont have the fps shooting or faster auto focus
but its true what they say, when you had full frame you dont want anytjing else
