Anyone make books for their favourite photos shot each year?

I'm starting to make one for 2009 of my favourite images, will hopefully keep it up and do one every year. It'll be nice in a few years to be able to look back and flick through them and see images that I'll most likely have forgotten by then (and hopefully see progression too). :)

I've not done any books but it's something I'd like to do.

I'd considered a themed set but the idea of an 'annual' is good. It would be great to look through them in years to come and decide if I'm improving.

What a jolly good idea :D As this is my first year with a DSLR it would be really interesting to look back and view what I considered to be my best shots and see if I had improved...

Yep, I've just started this too.

2008 was my first year with a DSLR and I put together a book and had it printed. I'm going to do the same thing with my favourite shots each year and 'hopefully' see some progression. Looking forward to sorting out 2009 at the start of next year.

I use apple iPhoto each year to do this, it beats every other tool out there for photo books and calendars

what a great idea that is i think i may have to have a go at this..

OK, I've started designing mine but am a bit confused...

On the design, there is a front cover then page 1 is a single page, then 2 and 3 is a double, is the page 1 the bit behind the outer cover? Using Blurb Booksmart btw.

Should be a simple answer, I think I'm just being a bit simple

I (finally) completed my 2008 one a couple of weeks back and is currently winging it's way over Europe from Blurb.:)

2009 one is 99% done, just needs any Christmas pics of the family adding to it. I'm planning of going back and doing them for every year since 2001 when I first went digital. I just need a lot more time and a lot more money...:D

Starting on Year 2 book now (of 2010). Last years book got plenty of attention from visitors sitting in the living room. :)

Yes, I've been doing this on Blurb for a few years now. Just finishing 2010's off and then if our hopeless internet connection holds together long enough, I'll send it for printing later in the week.

I usually get a 120 page large landscape which costs about £65 in imagewap. Costly? Yes. However, we rarely print out snaps during the year, and if you add up the cost of printing them all 6x4 or whatever, and buying some nice albums, £65 starts to look reasonable. Plus you can lay it out how you want, and have the pictures any size you want. Just be prepared for many hours putting it all together! :D

Great idea, I should do this for all the kids photographs I have taken.

Any recommendations on who to use?

not a photobook but i made a collage of pics i'd taken of my cousins family. since i got my dslr in july i've used them as my willing test-dummies and they've never once complained. my plan is to do one each year with pics from the year, following their kids as they grow up (at the minute one is 18 months, the other 7 months old).

printed out 12"x12" and presented in a nice frame i was quite pleased with it, but absolutely chuffed when i called round on xmas day to see it already hanging on the wall.

they had already bought me a large album (A4sized) to keep my best pics in, but i like the idea of a photobook as well. gonna try blurb as it seems to be a popular choice

My sis-in-law had an offer from tesco for a free photobook, and she gave it to me. As 2010 was my first year of photography, I thought it would be nice to use it as a portfolio of all my best shots from the year.

I am very pleased with it, and have decided that I am going to do the same very year.
