I use outlook in a small pane view with the Reading Pane on the right and To-Do Bar closed down.
Since the last update when Outlook opens up it does so in full screen mode and with the Reading Pane replaced with the To-Do Bar opened up.
I've tried the usual reduce and close but re-opening it goes back to full screen and settings changed.
Any ideas how I can set the way I want it permanently?

Try dragging the edges of the window to where you want with the mouse, while holding CTRL.
Then close - it should re-open in this position and size,

Having issues this morning with Outlook as well after last nights update.

Mine won't sent attachments from some accounts, but will from others. The attachment attaches fine but doesn't send. Very annoying (although I'll just use a different account until it's fixed)

If that's Windows 10 there has been a bug - look up SFC scan now command.

Thanks for that but that didn't solve the issue. Really not much of a problem now I'm aware of it anyway as I can use a different account. Microsoft seem to generally fix these little bugs quite quickly so I'll just give it a few days.

Unfortunately no good, just come back with the same changes :(

Been into see what the update was and there are three specific updates to Outlook ... I've just uninstalled them and now everything is back to how it should be :)

I don't like w10 - every other version of windows use to say it was updating or something. Last night I switched my puter off but it stayed on with the 'shutting down' message. It stayed like this for over 20mins!!!

I think my issues have come about because I physically switched it off!

Now Win 10 is asking for a restart to reinstall them
Any way to prevent this happening?

Can you not just set the updates to important rather than optional, as per win 7 etc?

Don't think so, Win 10 wants to update and there seems no way to stop it.
You can delay a restart but as soon as you do a restart it installs it again.

Yeah there's a reason it says not to power off during updates.

Its weird, all of our 10 (roughly 30 deployed) machines have 2010 and would have been patched. No bother.

Wonder if it was certain configuration.

Even more weird that the patch was apparently designed to prevent the exact problem occurring!

We had the problem here on W7 machines too. MS pulled the update the day after it was released so if your systems delay implementing updates that may explain why you didn't get a problem.

We just went into the update history and removed the offending update ... all is sweetness and light again :)

HI Gramps

Did you get this sorted as my Oultook did exactly the same thing and drove me mad for a couple of days before I noticed "Safe Mode" in the bar at the top.

So uninstalling the update KB3114409 worked for me.

HTH

David

Thanks David, I did ... Following the information I posted in #14 I removed the update that was the cause of the problem and all was well, no problem since thankfully. :)
