Ever notice something in a magazine ad that interests you and when you look for the price you get this:-

£phone

or

£Web

I think it is only going to happen more often too as camera prices seem to increase every week at the moment and they could well have had to have the advert with the magazine weeks before you read it.

Whenever I see someone that doesn't put their prices up in public. Theyve lost my custom.

I can't be arsed phoning around to chase prices. Same goes in shops. If there is no price tag, I walk away/

Yip, I always feel that the advertiser is looking for an edge to start some sales patter.
It's a big turn off for me.

Back in the 80s when I was after hi-fi gear (as it was known then) that's all you would see in all the ads. You were compelled to randomly pick one supplier and phone, usually some place in Tottenham Court Road or Edgware Road (London). He would then ask what price had I seen it elsewhere, to which I obviously replied none, nobody prints any prices. He then would say what price had I been quoted - nothing, you're the first people I have phoned. There would then follow silence and eventually he would begrudgingly give me a price. This was repeated for all the various components of a hi-fi system.

Look around for what you want then search the internet for something similar at a good price

One of the big car dealers up here tried putting "ASK" instead of a price on their cars and let the salesman make up a price depending on the customer.

It didn't work

One of the reasons you'll find that is because of the ever changing prices between time of the mag going to print, the on sale date, and the issue date (all different).

 That works for me. Personally I love shopping around (if I have the time to spare).

I loathe shopping of any sort. Cannot get it over quick enough. Sometimes that costs me.

What a naff idea

adverts in magazines are normally written and placed at least 4 weeks before the mag hits the streets
