I sold my Lumix FZ200 which to be honest I've missed a bit. I know the sensor was tiny, but I didn't care as much! I took it everywhere without thinking and used it - end of. Then I started wanting to upgrade (the pixel peeping set in) - noise, jpeg artifacts etc as well as crap viewfinder....that's where it all went wrong! I got a 600d and lens, realised it was more than twice the weight of the Lumix, didn't get on with it and sold it without giving it a fair chance.

I bought a Fuji X30 (which I like for what it is), but I'm already realizing it's limitations. I'm a bit p&*sed off now. I wish I hadn't sold the Canon, or maybe even bought something like the FZ1000 when I had the cash. So, now I'm stuck with a compact (a very good one to be fair), not to mention a 15 - 85 lens after being spoilt with the other more versatile cameras! *rant over*.

Loads of us have suffered buyers/sellers regret to some degree,i have a Nikon D7200 and a P900 among others and i accept the limitations quality wise with the P900 but just love going out and taking pictures with it.

people say the best camera is the one you have with you, but mostly thats not true, its the one you left behind that would of been the best in x situation

A friend bought one of those Lumix FZ200 and he is more than happy with it.
And the shots he has shown me are good shots, a few mistakes but this isn't down to the camera but to the operator.
Not sure how I would feel if the same happened to me, so I can only think how you feel.

LumixNoob, your main mistake is selling the old kit. If you keep it and then discover you don't like the new kit, you have only lost money.

We've all been there.

I miss my Mamiya C330 kit with 4 lenses.
I miss my 16-35 F4 Nikon lens, but that was sold to pay for some house improvements.
I miss my 2 Opel Mantas.

Buy another FZ200 if you think you'll enjoy the experience again

Like Joni Mitchell put it: "You don't know what you've got 'till it's gone".

:(

It's rather like backups on a computer... I keep the last three or four cameras, so I can always turn back the clock....
But apart from a minolta G600 pocket compact that I keep in the car, I don't use any of them.

I am starting to wonder what the Fuji X40 will be like.. I still have all the others to compare....

I recently purchased a Fuji X30..love it!, I'm doing more photography than before and the quality and spec:, even though a small sensor, is great!

Every one should have an X30....

How does the X30 limit you, is it IQ or speed or user functions?

The fixed lens is a bit short/not wide enough, the exposure compensation settings are a bit basic, the macro function is good but you need to get rather close, I would like the ability to use a filter system...

But the X30 isn't really the problem. It would ideally just be a second camera, but at the moment I'm limited financially (moving house soon) so buying another camera would be a stretch and probably land me in the doghouse for the next year! It's fine as a walk around to chuck in my bag, but I need something a bit more versatile. If I'm only going to have one camera, I could do with it being a dslr.

I already had the Fuji X10 and I was looking for another camera, something that gave me good IQ and most importantly a view finder. I was looking at various compacts, but saw nothing with a viewfinder with good IQ at a sensible price point. I ended up getting a small bodied entry level Nikon DSLR, it is not that much bigger or heavier than my X10, and the IQ even at high ISO is superb. Oh and the DSLR cost me less than the price of a high end compact.
